Mad motorcycle transport came about during the terrible COVID pandemic. I had taken a redundancy package from my previous employment of 21 years and I was looking to start up a business. I was wondering what direction should I take. One morning whilst having a coffee, the idea of starting a motorcycle transport service haunted me. Having had two bad experiences with other transport companies. The first was when I bought a bike in Adelaide, it came to Melbourne with bent handlebars, the second one was when I snapped a clutch cable, I was 8 km away from home, and it took a Towie 5 hours to collect me, and when they did, they had a truck which had broken hydraulics. Another hour. In my mind, I knew I could bring a sense of duty, a focus on customer satisfaction, and a sense of pride and professionalism. I knew I could offer safety, security and reliability in my new chosen profession. I have always loved riding, I have always loved seeing bikes on the road and I've always had an interest in motorcycles. The chance to work with them full time is not only satisfying, it's really cool. I did my apprenticeship as a spray painter, so I'm very careful protecting your chrome and paintwork. I can also detail your ride. I find detailing very therapeutic and rewarding. I get to handle the coolest bikes, and I meet some of the nicest people. It’s an absolute cool job. Talking to people, hearing their stories, sharing their passions, and feeling the pride that people have showing their bikes. I really couldn’t find a better career.
